Kool FM is locally owned and operated community radio station broadcasting since 1994.Starting as a small radio station that serviced only Whangamata, we have since grown into a station that covers broadcasts from Mount Maunganui to Mercury Bay. Making Kool FM the third largest independent broadcaster in New Zealand.Our free format style of music covers Elvis to the current chart toppers, mixed with interviews, community news, weather, marine, surf reports, and promotions. - especially during the hectic summer months. Kool FM is also associated with numerous community events from Junior Sport (Rugby/Soccer/Netball) to the hugely popular Beach Hop Retro Festival, and we are the organisers of Kool FM Family Summer Series of events in both Whangamata and Whitianga. Being a fully commercial radio station we welcome any business who wishes to promote their products or services to the Eastern Coromandel and the 2.5 million visitors who come to this very special place each year.
